Ruby Tuesday

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was good, it was very relaxing.
I played some Sims. That's a screen shot of my Sim family's chateau at 24 Hillside Pass Rd. In Desiderata Valley. My favorite part of playing Sims is remodeling and designing the houses, but the inside of this one isn't perfect yet so I'll show you those pictures another time.
What else did I do this weekend?........I worked on some more sock monkey's. I watched the Juno Awards, Russel Peters was great I hope he hosts again next year. Sam Roberts - Love you! And Dallas Green with Gord Downie - incredible! If you didn't catch the Sleeping Sickness performance check it out here.
I took my dogs for a walk because it was so nice outside, but soon remembered why spring is my most hated season. Everything is wet and muddy and then my dogs get wet and muddy and when they come inside if I don't through them in the tub right away they get everything in the house wet and muddy. Why couldn't we just skip over spring and go right to summer?
To finish off the weekend I had a cup of chai tea, a bowl of apple crisp (2 bowls actually, it was really good), and watched Amazing Race. Bye Mel and Mike, all pressure is on Margie and Luke now my last remaining fave team.
Will post again soon,

Schweddy Family Recipe

No one can resist Alec Baldwin's Schweddy balls!
I spent all day yesterday making meatballs for a potluck dinner and they turned out perfectly! Just like Mama used to make, or one of my Auntie's, I don't remember exactly where the recipe came from. Oh well, they were delicious and that's all that counts.
Here's my recipe:
Sweet n' Sour Meatballs
In your ground beef add
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of bread crumbs
Garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste
And I threw in some finely chopped white onion.
Then fry those babies up!

Okay, while those guys are frying away you'll want to get the sauce started. I used my slow cooker but you can use a pot on the stove too, it doesn't really matter.

Alright sauce time!
You need:
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of white vinegar
2/3 cup of ketchup
3/4 cup of brown sugar
2 tbsp. of soya sauce
2 tbsp. of corn starch
Mix that all together, adding the corn starch little by little so that it doesn't get lumpy.
Then when your meatballs are nice and browned dump them in the sauce.
I made about 80 meatballs and cooked them on high for about 4 hours and voila! Some yummy meatsaballs! Just look at those Schweddy balls! So hot and steamy, the smell is heavenly!

Unfortunately my meatballs were a big hit at the potluck, so i didn't get to have any leftovers. I was so looking forward to a messy meatball sandwich for lunch too. Booourns.

Hollywood Revue

What's all the twittering about? If you haven't heard about it (and I highly doubt that), twitter is just another social network like your myspaces and your facebooks. It allows people to send and read other peoples tweets or updates, think of it as a cross between a text message and a facebook status. I first heard about in a Wired magazine a while back, but didn't think much of it because nobody was using it, until recently. A whole day doesn't go by without the mention of Twiiter, because celebrities love it! They are eatin' it up! After P. Diddy taught Ellen the ropes on her show she tried to get one million followers in one day, she didn't do it. Jimmy Fallon experimented by trying to make one of his audience members more popular than President Obama, and of course who can forget Ashton Kutchers rant about his noisy neighbors (Click here to see it if you haven't already). Celebrities still have their blogs to write whats on their mind, but twitter allows them to let their fans know what they are doing every minute of the day. I say great for the famous of the world, but for my regular self, meh. I think I'll just stick to facebook for now.

Last night saw the return of Dr. Ross, Nurse Hathaway, Dr. Carter, and Dr. Benton. I didn't watch it though, the dreamy George Clooney wasn't even enough to get me to tune in.

Hiedi and Spencer were on The View this morning and it was horribly boring, why were they even on the show?

Lastly, I just want to know what the deal is with Joaquin Phoenix. If this whole actor turned rapper thing is just a joke, stop it, I don't get it and it's not funny.
Anywho, that's all I got for today, have a great weekend!
Will post again soon,
t.
PS. This post is dedicated to my Dad who is celebrating his 50th birthday today. Best Wishes Dad!

Where is Spring?!!!!

I am so mad it is so cold today! Last week the weather was so beautiful, snow was melting and the birds were chirping, it was great. Daylight savings time was on the weekend, I felt like Spring was just around the corner, I could smell it in the air. Yes! Finally!
But no, I was horribly mistaken. I woke up this morning to -35 weather (that's Celsius)! The moon was still up, shinning so bright I think it was laughing at me. Damn you groundhog, this is your fault.
I looked through some pictures from our vacation in January, in hopes of putting warm, sunny thoughts in my head.Hopefully this will get me through the rest of the day.

Hollywood Revue

So everyone is talking about The Bachelor this week, I am hearing about it everywhere! Ellen, Bonnie Hunt, The View, even Jimmy Kimmel, it is there every time I change the channel. We can all agree Jason did a horrible thing to Melissa on national television in front of millions in the most intense rose ceremony yet (Asshole!). First he embarrasses the poor girl, accepts the engagement ring back from her and then immediately runs to the arms of Molly. All for the ratings of the show, it makes me sick. Many people believe the whole arrangement was staged, something that the producers of the show haven't completely denied. But from all this drama there was some good to come of it.
Jillian Harris had her heart broken by bachelor Jason Mesnick before the Molly, Melissa love triangle. Even though most fans of the show were rooting for the Canadian, she was blind-sided by the infamous 'friend talk'. Upsetting for everyone (especially Jillain), I think we have all come to realize that she is much too good for Jason anyway. Because Jillain was so popular she was named to be the new Bachelorette! We will all get to watch the 29 year old Albertan find love when the episodes start airing in May. Good luck Jillain, I will definitely be watching!

Monday, Monday.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was pretty uneventful, I spent most of my time playing Sims 2 on my computer. Once you start you can't stop, it's like drugs!
When I wasn't playing Sims 2 I was busy watching Sims 3 trailers on YouTube, here's my favorite:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3UXgvhszWM
The original February release date has been pushed back to June 2, so far away, I don't know if I can wait that long. Sims 3 looks amazing, I can't wait to play and create some sims! There is a special edition available for pre-order online right now. Sadly though I think I will need to buy a new computer just so I can play, old Betsey can barely handle Sims 2 and I don't even have all the expansion packs. No need to worry June is a ways away, plenty of time for computer shopping!
Will post again soon,
